Enhanced Aging Series of Courses A series of Personal Enrichment Sessions designed for and by those 50 plus English 1020E (020E) - UWO COURSE Introduction to Literature and Culture Offered in Goderich September 2009 - April 2010 Writing 2101FG - 600 - UWO COURSE Introduction to Expository Writing Offered in Goderich starting September 2009 - January 2010 Video Camera Basics course Join local photo artist George Zoethout for a 3 evening course which is designed for anyone interested in improving or learning how to use their video camcorder or their video function on their digital camera. Wednesday November 25th, December 2nd, and December 9th, 2009 from 7 - 9 p.m. at Goderich District Collegiate Institute in Goderich. Registration is required. Communications at Work October 7th, 14th, and 21st, 2009. Photography Classes Lake Huron Learning Collaborative is pleased to offer a series of three guided and interactive photography workshops this June. Local photo artist, George Zoethout will be inspiring photographers as they walk and shoot throughout Goderich during 3 separate themed evenings. In conjunction, Lake Huron Learning will also present a juried photo exhibit that runs from May 29 – Friday June 19 at Coffee Culture, 58 The Square, Goderich. Entitled Play, Work and Live, submitted photos will celebrate our area’s greatest resource, Water. The subject of the first in the series explores local architecture. On Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009 from 6:30 – 8:30, students will gather at the Band Shell in Courthouse Park. For this evening, a tripod is an asset, but not necessary. Wednesday June 10th, 2009 will involve the art of taking portraits. Since class will begin at 6:30 and be held at St. Christopher’s Beach in Goderich, it may be a wonderful opportunity for students to take photos for their entry into the Play, Work and Live exhibit. The third class, Night Photography, will be held Wednesday, June 17th from 8 – 10 pm and begin at the Harbour in Goderich and travel back to the Square. Each workshop is $35 and includes registration for the Play, Work and Live Exhibit. For those who wish to only submit a photograph to the show, the fee is $10 for the first submission and $5 for every other submission. Bring an unframed 4 x 6 photo to the Lake Huron Learning Collaborative Office located in the United Way Office at 35 East St., Goderich (above the Post Office) anytime from May 27th until noon on June 18th. A juried group will select a first place winner in each category and prizes will be announced and awarded Wednesday, June 24th from 7 – 9 pm at a Gala to be held at Coffee Culture, the Square Goderich.
